March 8th, 4 p.m.: I just observe two of my Parosphromenus-species spawning: the spec. Langgam and the spec. Seruyan. There are about 30 eggs in the cave the first and about 25 eggs in the cave of the second to be seen already. The spawning seems to come to an end now in both caeses.
The former animals are offspring of fish that H. Linke brought from Sumatra in 2009; they look similar to P. tweediei from Western Malaysia. The latter are colour variants of linkei (with reddish fins) that have been traded formerly already. The present animals have been imported via a German company some weeks ago for some German Paros-friends.
Both males have assembled rather big bubble-nests if compared with other species (with the exception of filamentosus; the Langgam-male still fetches bubbles every few minutes although spawning seems to have come to an end now.
