The international environmental initiative Save the Rainforest! tells its members today that surviving parts of the Sumatra rainforst are cut down for the sake of the production of printer paper! Responsible is the APRIL-company in Singapore (www.aprilasia.com/). On that homepage the company speaks of “fiber plantations”, but the truth is: they cut rainforest down for printer-paper! They tell us that they are combatting “illegal logging”. Therefore it is quite clear: This logging is legalized!
This is a unresponsible waste of highly valuable natural resources, again invoving the death of a whole biodiversity. Including as a small part Parosphromenus-fish and all waht belongs to their living system.
Anybody who knows more details should inform the friends of the rainforest and its huge biodiversity. And write protest mails to the government of Sumatra.
