As a professional writer, (no novels yet, but many other published works), I know via my colleagues that it is easy and inexpensive to self-publish, especially in the form of ebooks. I can send a link to a little ebook a published author friend of my made that tells how to do it with e-readers. Let me know.
These days, it really is not necessary to go to a traditional publisher!
