I have been gone for quite a while. Having undetermined health issues, and more tests coming up. I have unfortunatly lost all my fish from lack of care. Hopefully I will be able to start over soon. I have really missed being on Forum and will be back more often to keep informed.

I am very sad to hear that, – we have missed you as well on this forum. I do hope everything will develop to the better for you, and possibly a new fish-start.
But as you say – one can also of course just read and take part in discussions here and keep informes as such ..

    All the best

Thank you Helene, I’m looking forward to “restarting” again, at least with those little parvulus. I had 6 spwnings but no hatch… now thats a challenge.

Ted, the two slim species ornaticauda and parvulus still present many problems to us. Especially the disappearance of many eggs over night is an unsolved problem.

I had some success by following an advice by friend Horst Linke to lower the pH to at least 4.0 or even 3.5. I know of the experience of Günter Kopic who had success with parvulus only with a pH around 3.0 (!). But equally, I had success with other pairs with a pH of 6.0 or even 6.5. It is for sure, that the activity of funghi and germs is much lower in a deeply acid milieu. That may play a role, but we do not know it for sure what other factors are of importance.
