Just would like to share with you some progress that has come around in Denmark recently – by the help of Vestsjællands Terrarie og Akvarieklub (Aqaurium and terrarie club) in which I recently was invited to talk about the parosphromenus and the parosphromenus project.
After the lecture I was asked it would be possible to use some of my information for the next number of the club magazine. Of course I said yes, and quickly wrote some material suited for this purpose.
And I would like to share this with you, because I think it is a really good job this club has done and I am very happy about having been asked to contribute like this. Well 🙂 I do know its in danish, and very few of you will probably understand that, but anyway … I am just a bit proud and happy, so wanted to share that. And maybe there are a few danes out there 😉 …

Furthermore I have been offered that the material will also be printed in a small special issue with only the parosphromenus articles. So this I will recieve in a few weeks.

All in all I have had some really good experiences lately going out to clubs talking about my favorite subject 🙂

Yes Helene: You are doing a great job in your home country and here, in our project, for other regions, too.

Most aquarists only want to have fun, not work. You engage in information and education. And it’s rewarding. I know, there are many days when you see the work only. But then, suddenly, there is a reply, and you see: It was worthwhile.

But it’s an ongoing process. Many aquarists change their favourites every year; they must have them all, first the barbs, then the cichlids, then the labyrinths and so on. Behaving more steadily, keeping a friendship over years, being not attracted by every fashion is not usual for a hobbyist. That you do nevertheless, will make some people think about, and that’s a good thing to influence the hobby’s mentality.

So, congratulation, and – let’s go on!

I dont know, Martin, – I think yours are good too. And by the way, I think now that we are into the ‘publishing business’ 🙂 with articles and such, I am perfectly happy that my photoes are used sometimes. Sometimes one just need a particular photo of either a different species or a certain posture or whatever, and I am happy to let mine be of use – just write a note to me. 🙂
