About the International Meeting :

The International Meeting was started as a tradition in september 2015, and has been held every second year after. This is the 3th International Meeting.

As a mostly net-based community and network, this is a great opportunity to meet in person, with each other, and with the people and institutions with which we cooperate.

This time, we are very fortunate to be able to hold the meeting in the facilities of Chester Zoo, — this has become possible because of the enthusiasm and support

from, in particular the Aquarium Department, Andrea Swatman (teamleader) and Steven Chester. (teammember)

In 2016 we were contacted by Chester Zoo, and became informed about their work on the Island Project, which included areas in South East

Asia, where also parosphromenus species are found.

Chester Zoo has shown an interest and a strong support in the work of the Project, and has for a couple of years had a fantastic display tank representing species of South East

Asia, among these more than 100 Parosphromenus linkei. These p. linkei were all bred by Chester Zoo.

Very sadly, this tank was destroyed in the recent fire, and a lot of great work was lost. We are glad to know that Chester Zoo still has paros, and still is

dedicated to continue keeping the species, taking part in breedings program and work on rebuilding their desplay of Parosphromenus species.

The Parosphromenus Project sees the cooperation with institutions such as Chester Zoo, as extremely important in our work towards knowledge and conservation.

This International Meeting is the first outside of Germany, and it includes a full day of presentations, but also the possibilities to meet socially, talk and get to know each other.

We will have dinner together at a local pub, and sunday we have the opportunity to come behind the scenes of the Aquarium department, as well as enjoying a relaxing day at

Chester Zoo.
