The female wasn’t shar­ing his enthu­si­asm I think, as you can see on the pic­tures she didn’t change her dress.
I did not have the time to watch them for long, but bought some glass worm. maybe that will make her change her mind.

I also found out what was caus­ing the pH to rise. so I’ll be able to lower it towards pH 4.

Please don’t keep us in the dark on the cause of the increase in pH :). You must share these things …

its quite silly,

I had some trou­ble whit a pro­tein layer on the water sur­face.
It can, and did, help to give the bio­logic fil­ter a bac­te­ria boost whit some fil­ter mate­r­ial or sub­strate from another tank. I used akadama sub­strate from one of my planted tanks, what I should have realised is that it sta­bi­lizes the pH at 6.26.4 Great for planted com­mu­nity tanks, but not for black water aquar­i­ums. :silly:
