Hello Chris
Personally I would like very much to find ornaticauda, but for me it is too far away. I think it is not easy to organize such a thing as you mention, – it needs to be people who live close by, and would like to take many of these fish. I am not sure you will reach enough people here. It will not be so easy I think to distribute so many fish to P-P members.
Perhaps if anyone was coming to the meeting in Hamburg there might be a way to bring some there, but I dont know if you plan to.
It is true enough as you say, that at this moment we do not have many ornaticauda, but they are not that rare in trade. I know from a friend of mine who works in a shop in Copenhagen, that ornaticauda is not seldom on their lists.
But also, ornaticauda is really tricky and difficult, and even if many members would take ornaticauda, for many it would likely be only for a short time after which they may not be able to hold on to this particular species.
What we need is for someone with a lot of experience and skills to try to maintain the species for longer periods of time.
Anyway, I am not sure what to do in this situation, but it is good that you told us. We will have to see how many might react to it, maybe people living in Germany nearby.
