Dear forum members,
The Paro Distribution is trying to find fish for me, but I thought I would appeal here also and maybe find a member who currently has a surplus and would be willing to sell and, if necessary, to send them to me. I am in the Netherlands, close to Amsterdam and, due to disability, unable to travel.
After much searching, emailing, and telephoning, I have learned of at least one shipment of Paros that has arrived in Holland and is being distributed to shops.
However, I have been warned that there are two risks involved in buying from a shop:
1.
Possible weak/sick fish — it won’t be noticeable until sometime after they are living with me. Then they will die. 🙁
2.
Possible incorrect determination. I would like to know what I have (and where it comes from).
Private emails from people have been divided, advising me to buy the fish from a shop/Don’t do it! Quite frankly, this has my head spinning!
Even if a fairly reliable determination could be made, what if I ended up with sick and dying fish? Would that mean the aquarium would have to be thereafter completely emptied and disinfected?
As these will be my very first Paros, I would be happy with any species available. I am an experienced aquarist who has successfully kept rare/difficult species of other fish in the past and will do my utmost best to care properly for my Paros.
Help?
Interested persons can send me a PM.
