KeymasterThis homepage has now been around for about 3 years, – and as before mentioned a few things might need to be updated, – and improved.
One of the things which I would very much like to improve, is the income of new photos. We have described the 20 known species, and to many of these we already have some photos, but to some we have not, or too little. And it will always be interesting to have more photos of good quality. It will help us document knowledge of the species, their variations, the difference between males and females in different species, the growth of the fry etc etc.So I would really like to invite all users here to help us add more photos to our species galleries, as well as in general help us collect good parosphromenus photos, – of species, of behaviour, of fry in different sizes, of biotops.
In the next time ahead, I will change the ‘random image’ diasshow on the frontpage with new incoming photos. Hopefully many new and wonderful photos. It might not be possible to fit all photos into text or galleries, but it will be shown at the frontpage diasshow then.
You can either upload photos in this thread or send them to webmaster@parosphromenus-project.org

ParticipantHello, Helene,
I am still working through the threads of the past months – so please excuse if some of my posts come a bit late
I hope it’s still convenient to post some photos here …………….
One more picture of an adult P. rubrimontis cf. Mimbon 2008 male:
And one of a young male:

ParticipantI can not withstand the temptation to post some more P. quindecim pictures ….
First a photo which again shows the strong colouration of the female during courtship display:
I have a small video I wanted to show you, of the female showing full courtship display like a male. But I’m afraid the upload to YouTube doesn’t work … 🙁
Male in full display:

KeymasterThank you Stepfanie. Great photos.
Many of your p.rubrimontis cf mimbon 2008 have been uploaded in the ‘other species’ section. They are very fine.
Also the female quindecim is a good photo. Its interesting to see how much colour they can show. I have had quindecim and I have seen the same. But its difficult to take photos of it.January 6, 2015 at 3:05 am #7620Stefaan
ParticipantI share Helene’s view on your pictures Stefanie: they are beautyfull!

ParticipantThank you both!!
I’ll try again with the video first showing the displaying female P. qindecim. Maybe it works with a link to a Picasa web album.
At the beginning it’s the female showing exactly the same courtship display as normally shown by the male.
After she has dived down under the leaves, the male responds with his own display.January 6, 2015 at 12:37 pm #7622Tautvilas Laureckis

KeymasterThanks Phillip. Yes, it takes a lot of practising to take photos of paros. I would also say parvulus and ornaticuada are not the easiest species to capture – so well done
