    Hi all,

I picked up four young Paros from my local shop this week, no ID or location information. They’ve settled in well and today I spotted the first hint of colouration – a band of red in the caudal is visible in at least 2 individuals (I’m still struggling to tell them apart). Any thoughts on a possible ID, or still too young? I’m thinking it looks a little like allani maybe, although that seems unlikely given its apparent rarity?

For me it’s impossible: too young, not full male colouration, missing additional information on origin. There are at least eight, if not twelve forms from Bangka, Bintan, Sumatra and Kalimantan that could be involved. From Sumatra alone, there are five or six different forms potentially fitting to these pictures.

We should wait, have better pictures, or at least some information of their origin by the importer.

Thought that might be the case Peter. Will wait until they’re older but it’s hard not to play the guessing game as you see them develop!
