    Hello all.

Yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail from a local, rather big dealer of ornamental fish, stating that P. nagyi had arrived. So today, as soon as time allowed, I jumped on my bicycle and made the 12km trip to the very suburbs of south-east Leipzig.

And yes: looking into Peter’s and Martin’s book (which I had with me, of course) the fish swimming there seemed to be P. nagyi. And as the vendor told me, the fish had just arrived on Friday afternoon from a Dutch importer, I remembered that I had read about P. tweediei and nagyi offered in Holland some weeks ago here in the forum.)

So what I asked me – and the vendor as well: Does this meen that the fish are wild-caught imports? As the vendor couldn’t really clarify this issue, I’m not quite sure now, too. But as the fish looked rather fit and agile, I bought six of the ten animals in stock.

Looking at the fins, it could be 3.3. But as the six are of rather variable size (between 2 and 3.5 cm), it will take some time to finally figure this out.

Now I’m very curious to see how the newcomers will settle in their new home, when and what they will feed for the first time, etc. etc. As soon as I made my first observations, I will post it here on the forum. And hopefully I will be able to add some photos soon.

    P. nagyi has been offered recently in Denmark as well, – coming from Ruinemans in Holland, and labeled wildcaught. I think its likely that yours will be too.

Yes , they have been reported and seen here in the U.S. also. Our fish reportedly are wild and came from the same Asian source that were shipped to Holland.
