Parosphromenus harveyi fry development in pictures

It’s been a while, make it a loooong “while”, since I last post something in the forum. Blame it on my work that kept me from keeping paros (had a break from the hobby before) and FB.
Anyway, after a wake up call from ever diplomatic Helen Schoubye, here’s some photos taken over a period of almost 3 months of Parosphromenus harveyi (F2s).

At day 32, the dorsal fin starts to shorten (or is it due to longer bady length?)

Here’s a tiny fella, 39 days after hatching.
Seems that the anal and dorsal fin had developed quite rapidly. Or maybe I missed something in between.

At day 61, some of the fry start to show that whitish rim at the dorsal and anal fin

At day 75, some of the bigger ones are now looking like a proper paros complete with those characteristic lateral stripes.

Please note, some of the fry seems to develop faster than the others and I might have missed some important changes in between these photos.

Good morning, Zahar 🙂 and thank you for posting these photos here, – I think they are so fine. It is not often that we have seen photos of fry which are so clear, – and we have more time been talking about this, – what are the different stages of the fry development, and also how does fry of different species develop.
As I told you, I would like to put together at some point a small article or something like that, – which could document this development, as well as the period of the larvae development in the caves. So this is fantastic material for that.

This is awesome material 🙂 Helene is right that these are not only very nice pictures, but also very useful photos. Not many people have documented fry developement in so many stages with such clear photos. I have notes on this but not many pictures as I was not able to shot anything doable with my camera. Peease keep up this work. I also wanted to say thank you for the Cherating biotop pictures you managed to make for my article. This helped a lot.

So Pavel, – if you have got notes, – thats really good too. My dream would be to have an article which deals with describtion of the whole process including eggs, larvae development, fry development with many photos for documentation.
