Now in the male linkei’s the dorsal fins are extended always long, rather short in females, which can be seen already at the juvenile stage quite well.

You can never tell exactly how old a fish is, some do not grow properly by nursing errors and remain rather small, so you can not say how old he really is now. In addition, a Paro in intensive husbandry, for example, the duration approach very stressed and is only 3 Jaher old, where they also can be 5 to 7 years old, of course, absolutely. In any case, it is probably not a contagious disease.

    Hi Patrick
Do not worry, I know this and have this more often. This is a symptom of old age, this is called backbone deformirung. As in humans at the age is not so bad, the animal is still alive, but does not produce more children and can not eat as good as the others and is always too short, at some point the animal is then dying of weakness. Everything ko and normal, not a disease or other bad.
    Greeting Bernd 🙂

But yet, at the dorsal fin can they really tell them apart, the spots on the side or the filament in the caudal fin are not sure and variable. Incidentally, I have my linkei reduced breed and do it “only conservation breeding” so nice and enthusiastic people like Dorrothe do now really well, so be it, keep it up and think of the meeting in September, we surely need lots of linkei’ s, for I shall not bring, so have plenty of other types

Well I guess that did not necessarily have the typical characteristics of a male a male, secure only when linkei the dorsal fins of which are not pronounced in young animals, if you have seen eggs, it is a good sign, I still not experienced the paros just a few have laid eggs, without prior courtship there are no eggs.
Paros also do not die of spawning harden- as ei some Labyrinthern occurs.

Not all parents eat their children, but you never know exactly whether it goes well. The better way is always the separation of parents and children, only the more than 2 children remain. 🙂

Yes I have already made. For an aquarium exhibition even with Paros, believe it was alfredi. However, I have used only branches, roots and moss as a rural area and are recognized on plants, after the exhibition I have taken the Paros out again and sold the aquarium, the Paros are supposed to do boy with me and do not leave, they think they felt there well, but the effort is to keep it clean just too large and constantly have to make to the paludarium something, the animals never come to rest and also make children.

Hi you two, now that is linkei landed in particular Switzerland and it apparently goes ahead, I would have maybe something else. We have next weekend a small reef keeping hobby event and to a Swiss invited holding a Aquascape previous day with us, he must indeed back home, if there is someone in Switzerland or near, it was the opportunity it a few animals with to give.

Now Peter is right, I’ve even caught almost all of my fish in the biotopes and except no plants found in alfredi, rubrimontis and paludicola I have, moreover, the ground was mostly peat mud, sometimes more than a meter deep and the pH values were often at ph 3, where the Paros felt comfortable and hid themselves in the embankment or overhanging grass and twigs.
There are always some pictures of Paros in planted aquariums, but I think that will not be good for the Paros in the longer term, although there are several spawns, but there is little Changen the pups in a separate aquarium implement them effectively feed and provide support. :S

How exactly the pH value should be measured and what is needed.
I also have such a device, use it but rather to be seen how the pH value has been developing, the value goes up or down. In nature, nobody stands and adjusts the pH value. You can be sure that varies greatly in the biotopes of the ph value depending on the season.

It finally worked, I got my first phoenicurus scrim, only about 10 eggs but still, the animals are still young and will certainly soon produce larger clutches. :woohoo:

I hope you do enjoy it this glorious Paros have.
