ParticipantI’ll put granules peat in sock in tank to see. I’ve pH between 4,5 and 5 in my tanks, I think it´s okay because I reproduce my paros.
Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantYes, I use already peat for gardening in sock in harveyi tank but I think that it passed, I’ve 6,30 of pH…
My peat has pH 4. I’m looking for a gardening peat with lower pH that mine.
I’ll try to put peat socks in 30L barrel and I’ll see after a couples of days. But the Kati Ani is the more simple way to have water with low pH…
Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantKati ani = low pH + low conductivity and it´s not an error of measurement…
Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantAfter kati ani water is charged by carbon dioxide.

ParticipantHello Bernd,
This method works fine but I need to change to peat on background after few weeks because the pH increase.
I think to buy Kati Ani next month. The water on exit of it has a pH between 3,5 and 5. With my corner bubble filters with peat on it I can have pH between 3 and 4.

Tks mate!

ParticipantWhat type of black peat do you use in the rain water to prepare your water? Granules? The same peat in the tank? What’s the pH after preparing this water?
Tks.

ParticipantNo rock in my tanks. I use sieve to put directly brine shrimp in the Paros tanks.
My conductivity was never so high…
After a big water change: 25 us = eggs in the nest of male tweediei :woohoo:

ParticipantHello Bernd,
thanks for your method. I forget the bredding box also.
I’ve youngs Paros tweediei and youngs spec. Dua in their parents tanks. Youngs tweediei eat already brine shrimp with their parents, I’ve a lot of Ceratopteris cornuta in my Paros tanks and the youngs stay in.
I need to find others tanks to keep Paros youngs.Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantYou’ll find Moina here:
They ship internationaly…
Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantOk tks!
I know that it’s maybe cruel for the male…
Here is the breeding tank:
It works for males Betta albimarginata and channoides…
It’s just an idea for Paros but not to try it.
Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantAnd Moina?
Davy Grenouillet
ParticipantTks!
