VladParticipant
I’ll let someone more knowledgeable to diagnose.
If you decide on medicating don’t settle with half measures. Temps. doses all as on lable.
VladParticipantHard to tell did it help and was it ich in my case but the treatment, as I described, did not harm my paros.
I did continued the full course until the dots disappeared.
With some experience now I agree with helen on subject of observation of behaviour is as important as physical signs.
On other side paros seem to be much more resilient than my chocolate gouramis.I think any medication should be used as a last resort and very cautiously. Just because mine seemingly were fine is in no way an encouragement to follow.
VladParticipantHi, I have 7 P.sp.bintan from Damian
I understand those are the fish from your thread of deissner that came to be some kind of bintan and you got them around april-may?
I’m asking because I’m pretty sure that mine are from the same batch and i can now order deissner as those apparently are bintan.
Arthur is ordering deissner soon (he assured me those are 99% deissner and not any other kind) and in this case I will be verrry interested. The Chechs are exzellent breeders
I was referring to the imports/distribution in Czech Rep. I spoke with few local importer and in general they prefer to order fish that are almost twice the price from Germany.
It has something to do with the questionable disinfection techniques of fish that leaves them infertile or results in weak disfigured fryVladParticipantHi,
I was planning to conatact you but could find direct contact so…
Anyhoo I alredy did contact with arthur and waiting for his reply on the subject.I got mine from Wroclaw (Damian Brandys/Sepherek) he told me he imports directly from Asia. Unfortunately deliveries arrive every few months.
My experience so far is quite ok.
Fish look healthy and mortality rate is quite low.He has large number of P. anjuganansis right now – keeping them in quarantine now for two weeks and so far so good.
I think the price is really really attractive 🙂 in comparison to German..
VladParticipantwell..
because of you people I setting yet another tank.. only for paros :woohoo:
My idea is to setup a tank 140x40x30 with divided into 3 with with cascade seperators so only one external filter can be used.
In this setup each chamber would have around 55L
or divided into 5 sections it would be around 33L/ chamber
Now if someone could help finding some nice shop with the fish that would sent it to Warsaw, Poland..
VladParticipantoook.. it’s kinda late now
I’m in 5th day of dosing MG. So far all the guys look ok.. there are also two betta rutilans in that tank and also seem to be doing ok.
I don’t think that cutting the medication now makes any sense so ill just close my eyes and hope for the best
VladParticipantCould you please explain what do you mean by ‘doesn’t work well’?
Fish are sensitive to MG???
VladParticipantYesterday started in ich specific med ( basically malachite green) + raising the temp to 28c
Will update on progressVladParticipantwhere did you buy yours?
VladParticipantso this one has only one spot but few others have 3-4 same size
VladParticipantIt looks more like grains of sand than sugar powder (for size reference)
Ill attach some pics hoe it’ll helpVladParticipantI’m well aware that the perfect conditions would be to setup a tank for each species but unfortunately I don’t have space to do so (apartment) 🙁
I already had a large plantedtank set for some time. So it was only sensible choice.
What it does provide are rock solid sustainable conditions for the delicate fish that would be considerably harder to maintain in the smaller tanks.
As mentioned before – I do have separate breeding tanks.
From my observations it is worth noting that the behaviour of the parosphromenus in 10l, 100l, and 500l tank are very different.
For the first time they are not secluded and do not remain hidden.Feeding so far seems to go well and they have no trouble competing for food with gouramis.
VladParticipantMy setup is 500L tank housing 20 chocolate gouramis, 6 parosphromenus (I was told not deissneri) 10 loricaria/strurisoma and large, unknown amount of RC shrims.
Breeding takes place (hopefully in foreseeablefuture) in 10l tank as I don’t belive it will possible for young to survive.
I was planning to add 15 anjunganensis and a pair of betta rutilans. personally I doubt possibility of successful breeding in such a large tank.
Any coments on the will be much appreciated
