Jolanda WissebornParticipant
For al members a very super beautiful healthy paro 2017
Jolanda WissebornParticipantLol that Is only in the breeding/hobby scenery 😉
Jolanda WissebornParticipantHermanus is also a betta breeder yes and he has also a stocklist of some wild species, also mouthbrooders. I don’t know if he’s on his own in this one but it could also be that more breeders will co-operate. And I know him for years now. And they will be shipped through Germany
Jolanda WissebornParticipantHmmmm I ordered Linkei through Hermanus Harianto, a breeder wich is located near Borneo. But I’m asked the breeder if they were from over there and they were caught in the surroundings of Borneo, I know also for shure there’s a shipping point in Borneo.
This breeder has different species also 😉Jolanda WissebornParticipantJolanda WissebornParticipantHello Gianne,
What Peter Finke says will happen if you have enough hiding spaces, beechleave or oakleeves will help them also, I leave these in until they are totally gone. Next to Javamos or peat, that will also work. I have 3 pairs and they spawn regularly, I also tried the snatch Methode but found out that they wouldn’t breed anymore. Linkei Larve wil not get black, but will stay light like bettafry 🙂
Hope this helps. 😉Jolanda WissebornParticipantHello Gianne,
Great to see you here also 😉
Jolanda WissebornParticipantTwo males baldsing over a female
Jolanda WissebornParticipantThose youngsters are doing great, they aren’t shy at all and not afraid of me. There are in total 4 youngsters wich are visible for me and separated
Jolanda WissebornParticipantHello Rafeg,
Think your right cause my tank has loads of hidingspaces 😆 and the first I saw were quite big. But never saw them afterwards again.
Those now in the separate tank, those were still small but I noticed that also stress is not good. That’s why some didn’t survive. The last I caught was much bigger than the other 2, maybe getting more food in the nearby parents. Now I just got the eggs out and have 4 tiny youngsters again. In free swimming stage. 😉 Think this works better but the daddy didn’t like it at all. Got his breedinghole back but he went in and got out again and didn’t come in for 4 days 🙁Jolanda WissebornParticipantFinally got some youngsters out of that big tank of mine. The pairs are still in breeding mode but last time I got lucky to get some youngsters out. The are now about 3 months and I do think I got 2 males and 1 female.
Hope also that the little ones I got from the last nest will make it, the are really small.
Jolanda WissebornParticipantThank you Bernd ( Danke Bernd)
Will take your advice to watch the fish as close as possible and special the nests, when there are eggs, gonna try to take the young fish out before they swim free. 😉
Jolanda WissebornParticipantThank you also for your explaination Peter ,
I know some pairs of other fish will don’t give care anymore if you always remove the fry or eggs. So I’m shure I ‘m not ready yet with reading here 😉Jolanda WissebornParticipantThanks Russ for your reply, so it’s keeping an eye on the fry until they darken 😉
Jolanda WissebornParticipantWell I ask this because I know betta’s keep their bubblenest up and take care of their fry.
And for instance ramirezi are waving their eggs and keep their fry in site and protect them.
So I do not know if paro’s do anything special to care for their eggs and what if the parents aren’t there?? -
