    As to pH measurements:
The only Problem with Lawrence is that he tends to forget things. At this Occasion, he did not bring his pH meter (while I did bring the conductivity meter – just to make this clear). So I uged him to make use of his sensory experience in water chemistry, which he then did, as can be seen in the two attached photos. This way he came up with a pH of 4.375. I have no reason for doubt!

You are right, Peter, I normally record the water parameters. Unfortunately, not at this occasion. I have been wrestling with a decision when leaving whether or not to bring the equipment. I then thought that I had taken these values so often – what would I expect: a pH of 4-6 an conductivity somwhere between 10-25 micro-Si/cm? This gets a bit dull at some point of time. I am now regretting this decision in the light of the changes that have happened.
Please also mind that Sedili was never so extremly Coca-Cola colored as known from other Paro-sites and sometimes appeared remarkably clearish.
But I know, Jit will do this swiftly or even better, we send our new member Lawrence. Dont I remember correctly that newcomers are normally given three tasks to be completed to our satisfaction until full membership is attained? Isnt this in the statutes?

Peter – thats a Joke! Durian is a fruit – actually quite a good one when you succeed in passing it past your nose. It stinks galactically! What Jit wants from me most of all is M. kretseri. I´ll get a Durian in exchange. Well-I have to give this deal a hard thought.

This alerts me a little, dear westowfish, because the site near Kota Tinggi I know and which I have visited four times already is on a sandy provisional road (that is in part like a dam leading through a residual peat swamp)and which can be referred to as a “mining road”. Lorrys go there all the time coming back loaded with sandy soil. Are-we talking about the same site? If so, I and others (such as Jit Sin and Zahar) have been collecting alfredis there which are, however, very hard to keeep in a state where they maintain red colors. But they are not difficult to breed. And there is no resemblance to nagys. But maybe you are talking about some other mining road. “On the way to Desaru” means coming from North? I would be eager to see your habitat pictures or can provide mine, which would go best through regular email, I presume.

Jit, I can confirm that all of the Paros at the site you mention are alfredis, as before. How much substance is in the nagy-close-to-Kota-Tinrgi rumor? Do you have a site? I might be back in December and find the time to check.
