    RafEg,
it is glad to hear you are on a way. If you want to keep good water for paros, you should test it time to time, and prepare the water. You should read the forum and get to know a lot of important details. Everything is important. Good luck! 😉

I grow dafnia/moina, cyclops sp. and ostrcoda sp. culture too.
I take a tank with about 12-15 L of water.
Add some najas guadualepensis, callitriche palustris, lemna minor. Light is important, no need very strong, plants must to grow slowly. Air pump is not a must, but it can go.
Every few days I add a pinch of dry east, spirulina powder, wheat flour and sugar. Mix it in with warm water and add to the tank.
Culture is growing well. No need to change water very often, usually I change 30% only in 2-3 weeks, with water from my planted aquarium.
If it is an open tank, like mine, it can hold and some of mosquito larvas too. My wife don’t like very much of them as they tend to fly arround at home. 😆

What about beech (Fagus sp.) nutshells? The leaves of this tree is OK, but waht about the nutshells, maybe they are better than leaves, or worthless? I always see a lot of them while collecting the leaves. But still prefer the leaves. Just because I don’t know are they suitable for paro tanks as much as alder cones, oak or beech leaves..

    Big discussion!
I am that lucky guy from Lithuania who was able to contactparodistribution@parosphromenus-project.org an got an answers, help. If everything will be ok, the first paros will swim at prepared tanks very soon. This moment I wait for 5 months now. Many thanks to Mr. Stephan Menzel and his wife, Mr. Bernd Bussler, Mr. Peter Finke for all help and confidence! I will try my best.
So I dont mind about new distribution team work. I am amazed – people who helps to introduce paros to my country are amazing! This is my impression.

As I see, to spread a message about parosphromenus problem is one of the key point of this project ant more what an aquarists can make against all the pollution and devastation of natural parosphromenus home.
At this time I am translating an article to my native language about parosphromenus, waiting to get the first paros at my country, to breed them, hope all of this will bring these species to the level they will be safe in aquariums, these little jewel fish will have a chance to get back at their native environment.. So an every parosphromenus friend can do very much for these species. To breed them, to make them more popular and the most important – to bring the message about destruction of their environment. This is the best we can do beside we could find a billionarie with knowledge about this little endangered predator fish.

    Hello Maurice,
Welcome to PP! I am a newbie here too. I love this forum, here is very important and usefull info regarding parosphromenus. All these new things from general or planted aquarium to paros tank will help to increase knowledge and perception to this little jewel fish and all of it surrounding. This interest will have value for endangered fish. It is important!

So I have tried to test with malic acid.
I took 500ml RO water (19 TDS), put some malic acid to drop pH to from 6,8 to 4,8 pH, and got 26 TDS.

Malic acid is not the same as vinegar. I have pure white powder acid. Actually this acid occurs naturally in all fruits. So this is also a natural source of acid. Drop a fruit into river, and here an acid play a role. I will play around with it.. Thank you 😉
