Maps.
At the Parosphromenus Project website we find two different kinds of maps as important for us:
1. A species map:
This map displays information on locations where different species of the genus Parosphromenus have been found and caught. We will update this map when we have new or better informations regarding the species, however, we will not provide exact locations. Our fish are generally endangered of becoming extinct and for this reason exact locations will not be displayed.
But it is nevertheless interesting to see the approximate location where a particular species was or still is to be found, which other species live in the same area and under the same environmental conditions.
2. A members map:
One of the aims of the Parosphromenus Project is to assist and strengthen contacts between people who share the interest for these fish. Often it is of major importance to find others who live close by in order to find offspring, as well as to get in contact with others for information, help, social connections etc. We therefore provide a map in which we show where “our” people live.
However, in this map there are some special circumstances to be payed attention to due to privacy issues:
1. We will not provide any postal or e-mail-address or in full, only approximate locations. A name showed will be either your username or your clear name, if you give us permission to display the latter. This is helpful to other friends, of course. Mind that the full address is never given here.
2. We strongly ask all registered users to allow us to place you on the map,
– however in order for this to be done, you will have to email us directly to give permission on postmaster@parosphromenus-project.org
All new registered users will in the future be asked if they give this permission.
C: The Species Map will be visible for all who is looking at our homepage, – the Members Map will only be visible for registered users after they have logged into the homepage.
D: If you search for someone living close by you, please send a mail to request more detailed information to Peter.Finke@parosphromenus-project.org
