Dear friends, this newsletter will be one pdf-document in three languages (English, Deutsch, Francaise). Mainly, it is intended to inform you about the running new census.

ENGLISH

1. The new census has already started April 1st(Spring2014)

The idea is: Each year the two censuses run in April (spring) and in October (fall) and – after all – don’t need to be announced at all. But people forget even plain things. Therefore we think: better announce it one time too much than let it be forgotten. For we do this in the tenth year now and it must be done anew every year to keep us informed about the stock situation of our Parosphromenus species in our tanks. It is the base of every sustainment activity. So: please participate, for the first time or for the twentieth time! The first census this year has already started.

We are grateful to Benjamin Wilden from Paderborn in Westphalia (Germany) that he has promised to sum up all results. Benjamin will again collect all the single mails, establishing a readable synopsis and try to evaluate the results. The whole April is census-period. But my good advice is: Do it at once! Count your fish, pairs, single males or females, clutches, approximate number of offspring of each described species or undescribed form and mail it via census@parosphromenus-project.org to Benjamin. If presently there is no stock at all please mail “negative report”. This is a valuable information for the moment; we shall later see if it will change again.

If you have wild caught fish with a clear location where they originated, please name that location. Most Parosphromenus sold in the trade are wild caught, but without an approved location; we shall list those fish as “trade”. Nearly never this can be specialized for certain. And don’t forget: The spring census ends April 30th .

2. Some additional informations

Recent Trade in Europe and America: There has been considerable trade of Parosphromenus species during the last months especially in Europe (The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, UK, France, maybe other countries). Species that have been involved include aff. bintan, tweediei, spec. Ampah, ornaticauda, nagyi and linkei, maybe others. There was considerable confusion again with regard of the names. Often deissneri was announced but it was never this species. There was even an offer of the newly named P. gunawani, but it remains unclear whether this species was involved (it would have been for the first time). Clear is that many (if not all) of the so-called fish belonged to other species. Even in the U.S. was trade of several Parosphromenus species to be seen, but the long-seller spec. Sentang seemed to be the most traded species.

No trade in Asia: It sound like a joke, but it is true: Friends in Singapore and Malaysia tried to get hold of Parosphromenus in pet shops. We had to explain localities for them only a few miles outside where e.g. nagyi are numerous!
Import to U.S. impossible: In November, a German breeder (Bernd Bussler) intended to serve our American friends with more than one hundred offspring of six species when visiting the U.S., but there was no safe way to do this officially. So he had to give up that idea.
Africa and Australia now included: By now, friends from both continents are members in our network, too.

1. Der neue Zensus hat bereits am1.April begonnen(Frühjahr2014)

Am liebsten würden wir den jeweiligen Zensus gar nicht mehr ankündigen, wenn es ist ja klar: Er läuft zweimal im Jahr zu festen Zeiten: Im Frühjahr im April und im Herbst im Oktober. Aber die Erfahrung zeigt: Man muss doch daran erinnern. Sonst wird es vergessen. Also: Bitte nehmt teil! Macht es am besten gleich, sonst unterbleibt es vielleicht. Schickt eine Mail an census@parosphromenus-project.org Das ist alles.

Wir danken Benjamin Wilden (Paderborn) dafür, dass er wieder alle Ergebnisse zusammenfassen und auswerten wird. Bei ihm kommen alle Mails an, den ganzen April über. Also: Zählt Eure Paare, einzelne Männchen/einzelne Weibchen, Gelege, die ungefähre Zahl der halbwüchsigen Jungfische, und zwar für jeder beschriebene Art und jede nichtbeschriebene weitere Form. Auch die Angabe „Fehlanzeige“, wenn Ihr gerade keinen Bestand habt, ist sehr wertvoll; das kann sich ändern.

Wenn bei Euren Wildfängen der Fundort ganz klar ist, bitte diesen angeben. Die meisten Handelsfische sind Wildfänge, aber ohne gesicherten Fundort; wir werden diese Fische als „Handel/Trade“ verzeichnen. Man bekommt sehr oft hier keine zuverlässigen Informationen. Und nicht vergessen: am 30. April ist Schluss!

2. Einige zusätzliche Informationen

In letzter Zeit im Handel in Europa und Amerika: Es gab im Winter beträchtlichen Parohandel insbesondere in Europa (Niederlande, Deutschland, Dänemark, England, Frankreich, wahrscheinlich auch in anderen Ländern). Die Arten waren u.a. aff. bintan, tweediei, spec. Ampah, ornaticauda, naygi und linkei, vielleicht auch noch weitere. Es gab wieder viel Namensverwirrung („deissneri“, der wie immer nie dabei war). Es gab Fische, die als die erst 2012 neu beschriebenen P. gunawani bezeichnet wurden; ob diese Fische wirklich dabei waren, können wir nicht genau sagen. Viele so benannte Fische waren es nicht, sondern bintan-Formen. Auch in den USA wurden wieder Wildfang-Paros angeboten, wobei der Long-Seller spec. Sentang wiederum den größten Anteil stellte, aber auch andere Arten dabei waren.

Kein Parohandel in Asien: Es klingt etwas komisch, aber Freunde aus Singapur und Malaysia haben uns gefragt, wo sie Paros erwerben können. Im Handel tauchen diese Fische dort noch seltener auf als bei uns. Wir haben ihnen erklärt: Fahrt ein paar Kilometer hinaus an die Ostküste von West-Malaysia; dort könnt ihr noch viele P. naygi antreffen und selber fangen!

Import in die USA unmöglich: Im November wollte Bernd Bussler anlässlich einer privaten Reise nach New York unsere amerikanischen Freunde mit mehr als hundert Jungfischen von sechs dort sehr begehrten Arten versorgen, aber es gab keine sichere Garantie, dass er die Fische dort offiziell einführen dürfte. Deshalb musste er die Idee aufgeben.

Afrika und Australien jetzt auch dabei: Diese beiden Kontinente fehlten bisher noch in unserem Netzwerk. Jetzt gehören Freunde von dort auch zu uns.

1. Le nouveau recensement a été mis sur 1 CommencéAvril(Printemps2014)

Nous préférerions annoncer plus le recensement respective , quand il est clair : Il fonctionne deux fois par an à des heures fixes : Au printemps , en Avril et à l’automne en Octobre . Mais l’expérience montre : Il faut cependant se souvenir. Sinon, il sera oublié . Alors s’il vous plaît prendre part ! Fait dans le temps , sinon il peut être omis . Envoyer un email à census@paroshromenus-project.org  C’est tout .

Nous remercions Benjamin Wilden ( Paderborn ) qu’il sera à nouveau résumer et d’évaluer tous les résultats . Avec lui, tous les mails arrivent , l’ensemble de Avril sur . Donc : compte vos couples , les hommes seuls / femmes seules , des mousselines , le nombre approximatif de jeunes demi – cultivés , et que pour chaque type décrit pas décrit plus en détail la forme. Même le mot «Aucun» si vous n’avez tout simplement pas un stock est très précieux ; cela peut changer .

Si l’emplacement est très clair dans votre capturés , s’il vous plaît spécifier. La plupart des poissons commerciaux sont capturés dans la nature , mais sans un emplacement sécurisé ; nous allons enregistrer ces

poissons «commerce / commerce ” . Vous obtenez très souvent ici, aucune information fiable . Et surtout n’oubliez pas : 30 Avril est la fin !

2. Quelques informations supplémentaires

Dernièrement dans le commerce en Europe et en Amérique : Il y avait Parohandel considérable en hiver, surtout en Europe ( Pays-Bas , l’Allemagne , le Danemark , l’Angleterre , la France, et probablement dans d’autres pays ) . Les espèces étaient , entre autres , aff . Bintan , tweediei , spéc. Ampah , ornaticauda , naygi et linkei , peut-être même plus . Il y avait encore beaucoup de confusion de nom ( ” deissneri ” qui était là , comme toujours, jamais ) . Il y avait des poissons qui ont été dénommées en 2012 P. gunawani nouvellement décrites ; si ces poissons étaient vraiment dedans , nous ne pouvons pas dire exactement . Beaucoup de soi- disant poissons ne sont pas , mais des formes Bintan . Tomboy Paros ont été disponibles aux Etats-Unis de nouveau , le long des vendeurs spec . Sentang tournent pour la part du lion , mais d’autres espèces étaient présentes .

Pas Parohandel en Asie : Il semble un peu bizarre , mais des amis de Singapour et de la Malaisie ont été demande où ils peuvent acheter Paros . Dans le commerce de ces poissons semblent là encore plus rare que chez nous . Nous avons expliqué à eux: monter à quelques miles sur la côte est de la Malaisie occidentale ; vous y trouverez de nombreux P. naygi et vous rattraper !
Importation aux Etats-Unis impossible : En Novembre Bernd Bussler voulait lors d’un voyage privé à New York pour fournir à nos amis américains avec plus d’une centaine de jeunes de six il très recherchés espèces , mais il n’y avait pas de garantie de sécurité qu’il est susceptible de présenter officiellement le poisson là. Par conséquent , il a dû abandonner l’idée .
Afrique et en Australie maintenant il ya aussi : Ces deux continents manquaient encore dans notre réseau. Maintenant inclure des amis de là vers nous .
